"Those that travel the Underfoot best travel alone.
Full of twists and turns, it rewards those that show self-sufficiency, resilience, and perseverance.
Alone, deep below the crust of Norrath - that's where true purpose is found."
Welcome to Benefaction's Adventures! This is where I chronicle the adventures of, unsurprisingly, Benefaction - my self-found paladin character on Project 1999's Green server.
"But wait!", I hear you ask. "I already don't know what like 7 of those things are!"
What is

?
EverQuest (EQ) is an MMORPG. First released in 1999, it's had about 4 billion expansions. It's still going today! You run around killing bugs and selling their legs to vendors. Over time the focus has drifted vastly, with the game barely recognizable today compared to what it once was. What is

?
Project 1999 (P99) is an attempt to host a playable version of EQ that plays like it did in 1999-2001. None of the latest expansion content is available, so it's very simple and basic and ugly and I love it.
So, come along with Benefaction and join him on his amazing adventures!
So WHO IS BENEFACTION?
- Benefaction is a dwarf paladin. He exists on P99's Green server.
- He's a follower of Brell Serilis, the Duke of Below, the Lord of the Underfoot. Brell Serilis created both the dwarves and the gnomes, as well as all manner of lesser-civilized beings - the gnolls, the goblins, and all manner of creatures that call the warm depths of Norrath their home.
- As a paladin, Benefaction has access to cleric spells, though at a slower rate. To make up for this deficit, he's much better trained in the martial arts, and can take much more of a beating than his more pious cousins.
- Benefaction is also self-found, a self-imposed extra challenge mode in EverQuest where he refuses gifts - he only uses what he can find in the wilds. Many new adventurers on P99 are blessed by priceless gifts from higher-level players, but not Benefaction! Many weapons, armor and trinkets have already been graciously turned away.
- Even assistance by other players is shunned to a degree - while training alone, Benefaction will refuse the magical aid of higher-level players. That being said, whenever he is grouping with fellow same-level players, he chooses to not be beholden to this rule - this is his challenge alone, and he does not want to slow down his adventuring buddies. Let the high-level buffs flow while grouped!
